We Asked AI to Install Gutters. Here's What Happened.

Look — AI is amazing. It can write poetry, generate images, pass the bar exam, and beat grandmasters at chess. But can it install gutters on a 1970s ranch-style home in Maryville with a 6/12 pitch, two dormers, and a fascia board that's been painted over eleven times? Let's think this through.

Step 1: The Estimate

An AI gutter estimator would analyze your satellite imagery and calculate linear footage down to the millimeter. Impressive. Except it can't see that the fascia behind the second-floor bathroom is soft to the touch. It can't feel the bounce in the soffit that means the rafter tails are compromised. It can't smell the mildew that tells an experienced installer there's a moisture problem hidden behind the drip edge.
